I wrote an Article a bit ago about how to remove the little screen bubbles from an OtterBox Defender Case, mainly because I have one of these robust cases and the one thing that bothered me the most about it was the screen bubbles… The only other real disadvantage to a case that is as protective as the OtterBox Defender Case is its size, it makes an iPhone just a tad thick but protection does come at a cost!

So when I recently saw and acquired my latest OtterBox 3G/3GS Commuter case I almost felt like I had a new iPhone! The OtterBox iPhone Commuter Case is very thin while still providing 3 layers of protection. The 3 protective layers come from an inner rubberized layer wrapped by hardened plastic shell that covers about 90% of  the inner rubber layer. The 3rd layer is the clear screen cover that you manually adhere to your iPhone screen. I opted to not use this one to get the most out of my iPhone’s anti smudge screen.

The OtterBox iPhone Commuter Case is really a very attractive case with the same open area on the back for flash your iPhone’s Apple Logo around. It offers a nice compromise between looks, size and protection while providing a bit more protection than many other cases, I especially like the rubberized flip covers on the headphone jack and iPhone docking port.

While I can’t drop my iPhone in a puddle or use it in hazardous environments that the OtterBox Defender case would have saved me, I still have a good compromise of protection and style at an affordable price.
