Apple released their highly anticipated tablet today called the iPad and as expected it’s crazy-mind blowing, the only question I have is, “who would benefit from a device like this?”
Without getting into all the specifications, you can get them here what does the iPad do best? The iPad seems to really shine when surfing the web, looking at photos, accessing your email, looking at information like your calendar, watching movies and even playing iPhone App based games. The iPad also has a seamless interface like the iPhone and iPod Touch that literally takes the learning curve out of using a product like this. These are all important things, but what about using it for other possible day to day operations like photo importing and editing, word processing, video editing, audio recording, graphics and web design, video conferencing and even more…

MVT Vegas Trip Revealed

I guess what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas… at least when you have an iPhone 3GS with built in video camera and ReelDirector onboard iPhone video editing software. I plan on doing a full review of the ReelDirector video editing iPhone App in a few days but for now I will at least share our latest MVT Vegas Trip all shot and edited on my iPhone 3GS. (Update – here is the full review)
If you are wondering what we were doing in Vegas, we went down for an Apple Specialist trade show. Many of the Apple Specialist locations cary our Training CD’s and so we went down to meet the very nice folks who distribute our products. We were blown away at the positive feedback we received during the event and hope this opportunity allows even more of the Apple Specialists to cary our products in the future.
I had to convert the original video to playback for web, for the most part it is a good representation of the actual original quality.
Here is a 13 minute video summary of our MVT 2009 Vegas trip…

(There are no additional monthly charges either like some other turn by turn GPS iPhone Apps)

iCam Video Surveillance iPhone App Review

I found a really nice application for my iPhone the other day that takes advantage of my iPhone and my Mac’s built in iSight camera. The iTunes Store App is called iCam from SKJM, LLC.
Basically what iCam does is takes your Mac’s iSight video & audio and streams it via the Web to your iPhone in real time. You can even receive up to 4 video feeds at a time to your iPhone.
You don’t “need” a Mac, you can also use a PC running the iCamSource software to send a WebCam video feed to your iPhone. And if you have an IP Internet Webcam that supports motion jpeg video you can also use it as an extra video source.
